Organization Seeks A Life Without Limits for People with Disabilities

Oklahoma Sports & Fitness is happy to promote and support United Cerebral Palsy of Oklahoma. United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) is a leading service provider and advocate for adults and children with disabilities, including cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is primarily characterized by an inability to fully control motor function, particularly muscle control and coordination. As one of the largest health nonprofits in America, the UCP mission is to advance the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with disabilities through an affiliate network. Through our publications and website, Oklahoma Sports & Fitness will share brief news and awareness about United Cerebral Palsy as well as the stories and successes of those we know affected by cerebral palsy.

“UCP helps individuals and families get through a crisis situation” said Oklahoma Executive Director Jim Rankin. “Sometimes they need diapers, or specialized formula, or wheelchair batteries, or wheelchair repairs. We work with the family to determine their most immediate need. UCP assists people who have fallen through the cracks of traditional services.”
